Eligibility criteria are provided within the Westpac Tech Futures Scholarship website. We encourage you to thoroughly read this and the Frequently Asked Questions before starting your application.

Criteria

Please note that you may be required to provide evidence of the below on request.

1. What is your Australian Citizenship Status? * Required

Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. You will be required to provide supporting documentation on request.
2. I confirm that I completed my secondary education (Year 12 or equivalent) between 01 January 2021 and 31 December 2024 (inclusive) * Required
3. I am currently enrolled full-time in my first undergraduate degree and studying a STEM discipline * Required
STEM disciples include (but are not limited to): Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science Software Engineering, Cyber Security, AI or related fields Biomedical Science, Health Technology or Medical Science. If unsure, please contact the partner university to confirm your degree is eligible.
4. In 2027 I will be in the 3rd, 4th or Honours year of my degree. * Required

Applicants must have chosen to study at one of our six participating university partners.
5. I have achieved, or am on track to achieve, a strong academic record, averaging a WAM of 70 or above. * Required

6. I confirm that I am available to attend the following events:

  • Westpac Scholars Summit in Sydney (28 - 29 April 2027), if successful;
  • Two leadership program residentials (July and September 2027), if successful.

7. I confirm that I have not previously been awarded a scholarship or fellowship through the Westpac Scholars Trust. * Required

Supporting Documentation Required

The following documentation will be required on page 8 of this application form.

  • Your CV of no more than two pages (PDF Only);
  • Copy of your university academic transcripts. Please combine into a single PDF;
  • One academic reference (PDF Only) is required using our templates. The referee you select should be someone who consents to being contacted by the Trust as part of the selection process as needed. This reference needs to be completed by a person who is familiar with your academic record and understands the importance of your study program. Download the template here.

Please ensure you allow enough time to collect your reference and copies of your academic transcripts. These supporting documents must accompany your application before submission on or before the application closing date.
